About Paradise Projects
Paradise Projects is a Johannesburg-based landscaping company established in 2010, specialising in the design and transformation of residential and commercial outdoor spaces.
I'm Roy, my interest in landscaping grew from a genuine passion for gardens, plants and outdoor spaces. That still shapes the way I approach projects today. I enjoy looking at an existing property, understanding what works and what doesn’t, and finding practical ways to make the space more attractive, useful and enjoyable.
I take a hands-on approach to landscaping, combining design with an understanding of how a garden will actually be used, maintained and perform over time. Projects range from planting and irrigation improvements to complete garden transformations incorporating paving, retaining walls, drainage, water features and other outdoor structures.
Every property is different, so the starting point is always to understand the space, identify its opportunities and problems, and develop a solution that works for the property, the client and the budget.
A hands-on approach
I’m personally involved throughout the project, from the initial consultation and planning through to implementation on site. This means the original design intent isn’t lost between the drawing board and the finished garden.
I work with a small team and trusted suppliers, sourcing plants and materials to suit each project rather than relying on a fixed formula. Where a project presents practical challenges — whether drainage, levels, access, irrigation or an awkward use of space — I enjoy finding workable solutions rather than simply working around the problem.For me, a successful garden should look good, but it also needs to work.
