About Paradise Projects
Paradise Projects is a Johannesburg-based landscaping company established in 2010. I specialise in the design and transformation of residential and commercial outdoor spaces.
I'm Roy, and my interest in landscaping grew from a genuine passion for gardens, plants and outdoor spaces. That still shapes the way I approach projects today. I enjoy looking at an existing property, understanding what works and what doesn’t, and finding practical ways to make the space more attractive, useful and enjoyable.
I take a hands-on approach to landscaping, combining design with an understanding of how a garden will actually work over time. I consider how clients will use and maintain the space as well as how it will look. Projects range from planting and irrigation improvements to complete garden transformations. These can incorporate paving, retaining walls, drainage, water features and other outdoor structures.
Every property is different. I start by understanding the space and identifying its opportunities and problems. From there, I develop a solution that works for the property, the client and the budget.
A hands-on approach
I’m personally involved throughout the project, from the initial consultation and planning through to implementation on site. This helps ensure the original design intent carries through from the drawing board to the finished garden.
I work with a small team and trusted suppliers, sourcing plants and materials to suit each project rather than relying on a fixed formula. Some properties present practical challenges such as drainage, levels, access, irrigation or an awkward use of space. Finding workable solutions to those problems is an important part of my approach rather than simply working around them.
For me, a successful garden should look good, but it also needs to work. That practical approach has shaped Paradise Projects as a landscaping company in Johannesburg since 2010.
